Privacy policy

MDPage: Markdown Reader & PDF for Mac (Markdown Reader once installed). Last updated 5 November 2026.

In short: the app collects no data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it sends nothing about you or your files to me or to anyone else.

What the app reads

Only the files and folders you open, and the folders you allow when a document shows images stored next to it. macOS enforces this: the app runs in the App Sandbox. To avoid asking twice, the app remembers the folders you allowed as bookmarks stored on your Mac; remove the app to remove them.

What the app stores

Its settings (print options, the editor you chose) on your Mac, in the app's own container. Your documents are saved where you save them, and nowhere else.

When the app uses the network

Only to show an image a document links from the web, the way a browser would: the request goes straight to the server holding that image, which sees your IP address, as it would in any browser. The app loads nothing else from the internet, and it ships its formatting libraries inside the app.

Quick Look

The Quick Look preview reads only the file you preview. It has no network access and stores nothing.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date.
